57 Things That Girls Should Know About Guys

1. When a guy looks at you, either he's amazed of you or he's criticizing you

2. Guys don’t like to be used as pawns in trying to make your friends jealous.

3. Guys tend to get serious with their relationship and become too possessive. Better watch out girls.

4. The biggest turn off for guys is to see girls smoking.

5. The biggest turn on for guys are the girls who workout.

6. When a guy really likes you, he'll disregard all your bad characteristics. Guys go crazy over a girl's smile.

7. Ending a heated conversation with “Fine” or “Whatever” isn’t considered acceptable.
8.If you have a boyfriend, and your boy best friend always glances at you and it obviously shows that he is jealous whenever you're with your boyfriend, all I can say is your boy best friend loves you more than your boyfriend does.

9.  Girls are allowed to touch boys' things. Not their hair!

10. A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to.

11. A guy would sacrifice his money for lunch just to get you a couple of roses.

12. Guys need to be reassured often that they’re still loved.

13. Guys don’t care about how gorgeous you are, it’s goodbye, adios, and sayonara if you’re being a bitch.

14. All guys are kinky and willing to try anything that you may enjoy, just let them know.

15. Guys are more emotional than you think. If they loved you at one point, it’ll take them a lot longer than you think to let you go, and it hurts every second that they try.

16. Guys like girls who are like their moms. No kidding!

17. A guy would do just about anything to get you to notice him.

18. When a girl makes the boy suffer during courtship, it would be hard for him to let go of that girl.

19. Guys do not look into minute detailing. So, if you gave up a quarter of an inch from your 20 inches long hair, don’t expect your guy to know that instantly.

20. When four or more men get together, they talk about sports. When four or more women get together, they talk about men.

21. Cooking makes a girl all the more attractive.

22. You can’t get mad if your guy refuses to hook up your “ugly friend” with one of his good-looking friends.

23. Nothing you will ever do will entitle you to operate the remote control, unless operating means handing it to him.

24. Video games have helped men develop awesome skills that only encourage them to play more often.

25. Critiquing a man’s driving is outright unacceptable.

26. Guys’ night outs are sacred events. If you ask any question about it, you’ll be castigated.

27. Believe it or not, 99.5% of the time men honestly don’t mean to hurt you.

28. Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about.

29. Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend or ex love-interest.

30. If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don’t need to give advice.

31. Don’t hold it against your guy if he starts to cry after a good sports movie, and was laughing outrageously last night when the two of you were watching an emotional drama saga.

32. Leaving a message like “You know what?! Mmm… Never mind…” would make a guy hanging on to that thought all day long and reach a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking. Don’t ever do that!

33. A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.

34. Guys love you more than you love them.

35. No matter how much guys talk about hotness or sex appeal, personality is key.

36. When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl, he really is. Guys rarely say that.

37. If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him. It doesn’t happen that often, so when it does, you know something’s up.

38. A guy has more problems than you can see with your naked eyes.
39. Guys talk about girls more than girls talk about guys.

40. You like when your guy calls and asks you out for dinner and pays for you, right? Well yeah, guys like it once in a while too.

41. It’s natural for a guy’s eyes to wander.

42. It’s not that guys don’t want to make their girlfriends happy; it’s just that sometimes, they don’t know how.

43. A guy would give his right arm to be able to read a girl’s mind for a day.

44. Not all guys are jerks. Just because one is a jackass doesn’t mean he represents all of them.

45. When a guy sacrifices his sleep and health just to be with you. It means he likes you more than you can imagine.

46. Even if you dumped a guy months ago and he loved you, he probably still does and if he had one wish it would be to have you back in his life.

47. Guys love girls with brains more than girls in miniskirts.

48. A guy would waste his time over video games and football, the way a girl would do over novels and make-ups.

49. Girls' height doesn't really matter to a guy but her weight does!

50. Guys cry!!!!!!!!

51. Guys go crazy when girls touch their hands.

52. When a girl says "no", a guy hears it as "try again tomorrow."

53. You have to tell a guy what you really want before he gets the message clearly.

54. Guys love their moms.

55. A guy often thinks about the girl who likes him. But this doesn't mean that the guy likes her.

56. You can never understand him unless you listen to him.

57. No guy is bad when he is courting.

My Birthday Wish

I am turning a year older tomorrow, and I always get asked what I want for my birthday and I am epically awful at thinking of material things I want.  It’s time to put material things aside and remember those who paved the way for me. Every year I know what I want — I want to be able to make an impact to the lives of my adopted kids in my community (Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro). I usually do this every year since 2008. I know it’s not everyday that you get to help people around you and not everyone has the heart and passion to reach out to those who are in need.
For those who don’t know, I started a charity works and a volunteer’s organization (Keep Hope Alive) in 2008, a lifetime commitment for queer children who experience poverty, hunger and depression. I firmly believe that to bring change to our world we need to keep as many queer and questioning and amazing young people in this world as possible before anything else we do matters, and Keep Hope Alive helps me do that. Every act of involvement says you believe in the idea of making the world a better place. Children will not remember you for the material things you provided, but for the feeling that you cherished them. I admire those people who do and pray for the hearts of those who don’t that someday their hearts will be touched and be able to share their blessings.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and it’s really the thing that will make me most happy second to serving God and family. In giving, I believe nothing is too little, no matter how small. I know money is hard, and charity can be very personal, but God’s provision is immeasurable.
I’m very excited for my birthday tomorrow. Another wish will come to pass. I’m excited to see more children to be fed and be inspired with the feeding and healthy teeth program we prepared. To all the people, friends and my family who helped and supported me with this passion and advocacy, thank you is not enough. Let God deal with your good deeds. To some people just reading this and knowing and respecting that this is something I care about means a lot to me. J

Playing with the kids. These kids loved to be cuddled. As soon as their done with handwashing they ran towards me and asked me to carry them on our back. (piggy back ride)

Benefits Of Being Single

Being single is getting over the illusion that there is somebody out there to complete you and taking charge of your own life.
The thought above came as a realization to me, some years ago and life hasn’t been the same since then. This article is dedicated to all the single guys and girls out there who live an awesome life and know the meaning of what it means to have a good time! They are the ones who can truly understand the benefits of being single in this world. For those of you who have recently attained a single status, this article will present the silver lining of breaking up from a relationship that wasn’t working out! For those who rue on the fact that they are single, this article may remind them about what they are missing out on! Keep reading ahead to know what are the advantages of being single in this wide world.
Are you a happy single or single but desperate to fall for someone? There is a lot of difference between those two states. Personally, I feel that the first state is the ideal one to be in, while the second one is going to lead you to make a lot of bad choices! The idea is to be comfortable being who you are and be on the path of realizing your true potential. You will certainly find someone along the way, who shares your view of the world and understands you for who you are. Most people who are single and desperate to change that status, are missing out upon the many benefits of being single. In the rest of the article, I discuss the many advantages of being single, that perhaps need to be reminded to a lot of people out there!

What are the Benefits of Being Single?

People actually dread being single! It is true that you need a close companion in the journey of life. However, taking this fact to the point where the only objective of one’s life is finding that one borders on being ridiculous. What you are looking for is a fellow traveler, with whom the journey will be more enjoyable. That person cannot be your destination, if you get what I am talking about here!
If you are going to be moving around with droopy eyes looking for that special someone desperately and be needy, you are seriously downgrading your chances of finding someone eventually! All that said and done, if you are a sore single, you are missing out on a lot, which I endeavor to remind you about in the following lines.

Time to Reconnect With Yourself
Instead of despairing being single, which is not going to help you change your status, look at it as an opportunity to find yourself. If you have just gone through a relationship break up, initially it will be very painful, but later you will realize all that you were missing out upon. Looking in the mirror, you find somebody who is not you. You are a shadow of your former self.
You will realize the degree to which you have compromised being who you are, to be accepted by your ex partner! It is time that this stopped and you started asserting yourself for who you truly are. Place your happiness above everything else! Realize that it is not dependent on the whims of some person.
Take time to explore the true definition of love. Spend time doing things that you like. Follow up every one of those interests, that you were constrained from pursuing when you were in a relationship! You will slowly realize that you are happy, despite being single!

Freedom to Make Your Own Decisions
One of the prime benefits of being single parent or a single man or woman, is the complete freedom that you get to make decisions on your own. You don’t need somebody’s approval to do what you want to. While being a single parent after a divorce or otherwise can be tough, it gives you time to connect with your child or children like never before. Yes, it’s tough being a mom and a dad, but then, it has the added benefit of being there for your children more than before.

You are free of the dependence in decision-making that inevitably follows from being in a relationship for too long. Take the freedom to think on your own and make your own decisions. Breathe the fresh air of freedom my friend! Enjoy the peace of mind and liberation from emotional turbulence that riddles relationships. You will realize that being a happy loner has its benefits!

Freedom to Follow Your Ambitions
The liberation that being single provides you to follow your ambitions is an often overlooked benefit. Work hard, party harder! I am not saying that being in a relationship, you cannot follow your ambitions, but it does put a lot of constraints and responsibility. Being single, you can focus better on your work, without all the emotional tribulations getting in your way. Balancing work life and a relationship can be a daunting task for men and women.
It is better to wait for a time when you are in a better position to give full justice to a relationship, than get into one hurriedly and ruin it because of interests in professional life. Set your priorities in order. This is a good time to do that. For your own growth, it is important that you prove yourself in your own eyes, before you even think of getting into a relationship.

More Time For Pals
One of the prime benefits of being single woman or man is the time you get to spend with you pals! People in a relationship rarely get time to spend with their friend circles, because of the time they spend together. Go for that camping trip that you have been planning with your friends for so long. Go for that biking trip you have been thinking about for so long with your biking gang.

Freedom to Take Risks
When you are single, there is more room for you to take risks, that you normally wouldn’t while being in a relationship. You can take financial risks and personal risks in your area of work, without worrying about dependents.

Flirt 360 Degrees
Of course, nobody has stopped you from flirting harmlessly 360 degrees! You need to stay in the game, though you waive the ‘single but unavailable’ status. Don’t hurry or jump into anything serious until you are sure and ready for it. Nobody can switch off the flirting instinct which is inbuilt!

Know What Happiness Means
Many people rush early into a relationship without knowing what they really want or what happiness means to them. Take charge of your life with confidence and find out what you are truly made for. You derive happiness from positive changes that you see in yourself, which can only arise when you take up newer challenges.

For me at least, ultimate happiness is not just being with that special somebody, but sharing my own happiness with her, as she will share hers with mine, as we both pursue our goals independently. Don’t sacrifice your personal happiness for acceptance! You have to create your own world and seek your personal challenges. It is in the struggle to overcome those challenges, that you will find happiness.

Strive to be independent and happiness will follow from it. Once you have achieved personal balance from within, you will be able to give out love and take it in much more gracefully.

These were some of the benefits of being single man or woman. Enjoy the freedom that you get as being single! That’s one of its prime benefits. You can change the single status to ‘happily married’ one day, when you find someone who lets you be yourself!

7 Reasons Why Guys Hide Their Feelings

They feel vulnerable
Most men are reluctant to bare their souls and talk about their inner feelings, emotions, fears, dreams and hopes because they feel that it would leave them vulnerable. This is why they cling to their innermost feelings and are unwilling to open up.

They are less emotional than women
Women tend to think nothing of sharing their deepest feelings with the man they love. They are highly emotional and want to reveal their heart’s desires as quickly as possible. However, men are not like this. They tend to abhor the thought of spilling their thoughts to anyone! They tend to be less emotional and more reserved.

They fear of being thought of as a sissy
Sometimes a man feels that if he told a woman everything – his hopes, fears, dreams and aspirations, then he could look like a sissy or even foolish. He feel embarrassed at the thought of giving voice to his feelings easily. This makes him reluctant to share his thoughts even to the woman he is dating.

They need to feel independent
It is natural for men to feel independent and “strong”. The thought of unburdening his deepest feelings and insecurities would make him as “weak and vulnerable” as anyone else! This natural urge to remain independent and stronger than anyone else will stop him from being too open.

They need to trust first
Women go with their gut feelings and instincts. If she feels like talking, she will! This is not so with men who need to first trust! Only if he feels that he can trust a woman enough to let her know everything about him, will he open up and bare his soul. If he does not fully trust her, wild horses wouldn’t make him confess!

They need to be convinced of your feelings
Just as a man needs to first trust his woman implicitly and wholeheartedly before he can open up and share his feelings, they also need to know if she loves him deeply and trusts him back. Only then he would be encouraged and motivated to tell her personal things.

They are reluctant to give themselves away
Men are naturally more reluctant to give themselves away because they need to know that in doing so, they will not face any kind of rejection. Unless and until they are convinced that they will be accepted and loved no matter what – they will refuse to open up.

Republic of Corruption

Corruption has been one of the major problems of our country for centuries. It can be traced back during the Spanish era wherein our own colonizers itself practice corruption in many ways, some in government affairs and projects and most are from religious means from Spanish priest or prayle. For 333 years, we were exposed to that kind of obnoxious attitude which taught us to abuse minority and feel superior to ourselves while lavishing the money poor people had worked hard to earn.
We are now in the middle of advancement where our country encourages development and breakthroughs for the betterment of people. The undeniable influence of modernity became an imprint to our daily life which left nothing but history books to tell us of the ruins and traditions our colonizers had instilled us. Slowly, we are loosing our tight hold to our old cultures which were the product of hundred years of imprisonment and great oppression from different countries; however, corruption, still rigid and hard, had survived and remained as an unresolved problem reigning in our society and a bit of a remembrance from our colonizers.
Up until now, we see through our own eyes how corruption is solved with tolerance and no action. It seems like its pretty normal that a politician is corrupt, that a government leader is being paid for illegal means that a man must die to stand against corruption and that nobody survives when you’re against it. If you can’t beat them, then be one of them. That might be the reason why only a few stands for the right. I’m afraid if this continues, no progress could be seen and we will forever remain as a developing country. We will forever suffer the aftermath of lenience with corruption. However, it is never too late to move and put your plans into action. With strict implementation of anti-corruption campaign and should be powered by the government itself and the people as the watchers of justice, corruption may still be shattered into pieces. We, citizens should pay attention to the politicians who are not practicing the campaign. There should be no exceptions, no family, friends, or close relatives that will stop them from being charged with corruption. To this campaign, there is no blood and acquaintances involved. Everyone should be punished if failed to get rid of corruption. The implementation of the campaign should be fair and equal.
With the increasing number of population, the greater the demand of food and the higher risk of poverty, we should not let corruption get in our way again. By exterminating it, other branch out problems would be gone like poverty and scarcity of food. So let us be part for a bigger change.

It’s possible to die of a broken heart!

According to recent studies, it’s possible to die from heart failure after an intense emotional event! It’s called Stress Cardiomyopathy. It happens when emotional events such as death or divorce cause adrenaline levels in the body to rise to such high levels for days on end that the heart begins to die.
Stress hormones are so high that they begin to “stun” the heart into failure. The occurrence was often misdiagnosed as a heart attack. Researchers found that, even though symptoms are similar, they are slightly different conditions.
Because of the massive amounts of continuous adrenaline, or epinephrine, from emotional events the body can experience chest pain, fluid in the lungs, shortness of breath and even heart failure.(http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org)

Why You Look Different in Photos Than You Do in the Mirror?

Yesterday morning, you looked good. Yesterday evening, before you went out, you're pretty sure you looked real good. So who the hell is this schlub in the Facebook album from last night, tagged with your name?
It's a phenomenon nestled somewhere between universal annoyance and urban legend: People see something different in the mirror than they do in photographs. More often than not, the former is controlled, predictable and palatable, while the latter is an endless source of nasty little surprises.
So, why the disparity? The answer is complicated, but it boils down to this: Your eyes, your brain, your mirror and your camera are all conspiring to sabotage your body image.

It's the camera
The camera adds ten pounds! At a certain point, this obscure TV adage became folk wisdom. While this particular effect probably refers specifically to television, and in particular the distorting effect of the convex curvature of older TV sets, it seems to hold true for regular folks, sometimes in still pictures as well as video.
Cameras sensors may be absorbing the same photons as our eyes, but they're doing so through a complex lens that can actually change the way you look. Most cameras, from the dumpiest point-and-shoots to high-end DSLRs, ship with lenses capable of adjusting to wide, zoom-ed out perspective, and tight, zoomed-in views. At both extremes, the lens plays weird—and potentially ugli-fying tricks.
A wide angle lens does as its name suggests, capturing an image spread over a wide angle. The field of view in a wide-angle shot is wide—wider than that of your own eyes. In pulling this off, some lenses create a sort of fisheye effect, which can bloat subjects in the middle, and stretch those on the outside. This, however, is instantly recognizable, and probably won't cause too much anxiety. In other words, If the shot looks like a still from an episode of Jackass, you probably shouldn't let it figure into your self-image too much.
But there's a subtler effect of wide lenses called wide-angle distortion: Since the field of view is super-wide, objects close to the camera will seem large, while objects just a bit further away will seem very small. Here's a scene from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels that illustrates the effect, starting a 4:18. (NSFW, sorta.)
The net effect is an illusion of size, both width and height. Subtle, sure, but it's there.
Telephoto lenses are usually seen as more flattering, giving the impression that the subject is flattened, and slightly compressing the width of your foremost features, like your nose or breasts. So you might want to think twice before fleeing the pesky paparazzi and their fancy zoom lenses; it's the tourist with the pocket cam whose snaps will make you look fat on the Internet.
Lens distortion isn't the only way a camera can screw with your visage. Flash illuminates subjects harshly, turning elegant faces normally accented by soft shadows into a flat, shadowless, cadaveric horror shows.
Whether these effects are annoying or used to advantage, they mean that what you see in photos is different than what you see in the mirror.

It's the Mirror
I don't mean to imply that the camera is the only liar, here, because mirrors are just as guilty. For one, they flip your image. The You you're most familiar with, then, is actually an exact opposite of how you look to others. Granted, it's an intuitive reversal, so it doesn't bother us when we see it, but it implants a self-image that's intrinsically wrong.
On top of that, there's the problem of perspective. People stand close to mirrors, but see their whole selves. This provides a reasonable perspective, but a unique one: it's the perspective of a person standing near to you, eyes proportionately closer to your head than to your feet. This is the perspective of a partner in conversation, not a photographer. Looking a certain way from three feet away doesn't mean you'll look the same from 15.

It's you
The physics of lenses and mirrors offer solutions to specific problems, i.e. OH MY GOD SO THAT'S WHY MY WONDERFUL BUTT LOOKS SO FAT ON FILM! However, these explanations don't speak to a more relatable weirdness about photography. It's a feeling of uncanniness. It's a sense that something about the photographed self seems unquantifiably different than the mirrored self. It's in your head.
Think about the act of looking on a mirror. It's incredibly limited You pretty much need to be facing forward, or else you can't see. You will always be looking slightly down at the rest of your body. You will pose for yourself, to achieve the most flattering look. You will hide fat behind folds of clothes, or minimize a strange facial feature with a tilt of the head.
Other people, including photographers, don't see this version of you. They see a version that you are rarely privy to, and that can seem wildly foreign to our ingrained sensibilities. As Slate explains, it's a bit like how people hate their own voices on tape, doubly so because we know that those foreign, goofball intonations represent that way that everyone else hears us. In photos, we see ourselves in various states of motion, in different contortions and from uncaring, neutral perspectives. Lenses may distort, sure, but in a powerful way, these uncomfortable photographs are closer to reality than our carefully images in the mirror.  (J. Herrman, gizmodo.com)

RN Heals Batch 3: 13,000 Nurses, Midwives to be Deployed Next Month

The Department of Health (DOH) announced yesterday that 10,000 nurses and 3,000 midwives will be deployed next month to the various provinces in the Philippines to augment the inadequate nursing workforce in DOH hospitals and other health facilities of local government units.
According to the report, the government deployed the first batch of 10,000 nurses last year and another batch of 11,500 nurses and 1,000 midwives last November.
This year 2012, the recruitment of 10,000 nurses and 3,000 midwives is already ongoing and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
“The recruitment and selection shall be done by the respective Center for Health Development (CMDs) to be completed by February,” the DOH said.
Under the RN Heals 3 program, newly hired nurses and midwives shall undergo general orientation scheduled on the first week of March before the actual deployment.
Those who were previously hired under the same program and rendered satisfactory services until the end of their contract next week can re-apply. (Nursingcrib.com)

You are good enough just as you are.

During your life, you will encounter people who will try to convince you to be dissatisfied and unhappy with yourself.
These people will try to tell you your hair is wrong,
your weight is wrong,  your height is wrong,
your color is wrong, your diet is wrong,
your clothes are wrong,
your high school and college courses are wrong,
your religion is wrong, your job skills are wrong,
your job itself is wrong, your career choice is wrong,
your house is wrong, your kitchen is wrong,
your cooking is wrong,  you yourself are wrong.
The right thing to do is to observe yourself, and see for yourself the things that are right:
you were good to someone, you learned something new,
you taught yourself a skill, you completed another year of school,
you grew taller, you learned to drive a car,
you helped a neighbor, you repaired something,
you painted a room, you successfully cooked something new,
you straightened up the back yard, you served on a jury,
you volunteered,
and otherwise you progressed today — some of these things will not literally happen today, but they will happen, because you are good enough just as you are.
— Unknown
Wherever you are right now, and whatever you’re doing, stop for just a moment.
Take a second and tell yourself “I love you.” It doesn’t really matter how much you believe it right now, in time you will come to see the truth in it.
Then, allow yourself a short dance break and laugh as loud as you can.
Your body can’t tell the difference between when you pretend to laugh and when the laughter becomes real.
So laugh a lot. You’re body will thank you.
Take this short time for yourself. You deserve it. You’re alive and beautiful. Celebrate.
Everyone is beautiful. Don't let anyone make you feel ugly, and never make anyone else feel it.
