              Warmest congratulations to all the graduates of 2014 who have entered the first door of more opportunities and great possibilities. The Local Government is doing its part to give you the best education in this part of the country. NGITING TAGUMPAY PROJECT

NGITING TAGUMPAY PROJECT: I have done many physical exams in Day Care Centers & Elementary Schools in Mansalay. By far the biggest health problem is dental decay. For that reason, I begun teaching the youngest children in the schools how to brush and take care of their teeth. As an incentive we are giving each child in those classes a toothbrush & toothpaste and actually have them use it during the teaching. This Healthy Teeth Campaign is for every Day Care Centers & Elementary Schools in the Municipality of Mansalay.

BANTAY KALUSUGAN Project

BANTAY KALUSUGAN: Health Check-up is a chance to have a private, face-to-face assessment and conversation with a Health Care Provider (Physician, Nurse, Pharmacist) to better understand their health conditions and how/when to take their medicines, what they are doing for the patient and how to control any side effects. This is a Free Health Check-up/Assessment and Free Basic Medicines Program given to community people of Mansalay. As a nurse I am striving to achieve long term and self-sustaining healthy communities where extreme poverty and lack of basic  education and healthcare are a problem. I believe that through spiritual healing and preventive care a healthy community can enable itself to withstand the challenges of tomorrow.

Empowering the Youths.

I proposed this ordinance to the Sangguniang Bayan of Mansalay to develop a sports program in providing opportunities to bring out the best in the players and elevate them to a highest level in sports; To encourage all sports organizations be it municipality-wide or Barangay-based level, to foster a development program in an atmosphere of cooperation and participation; To support implementors and its leaders toward capability- building, and; To draw/elicit commitment from individuals and institutions, thus bringing Mansalay towards excellence in sports.

BAGONG TAONG 2014

Tulad ng dati, tuwing darating ang Bagong Taon,  pag-asa at tuwa ang inaasam ng mga kababayan natin. Una sa lahat, ang hiling ay pagbabago sa pananaw, sa sarili, sa mamamayan at bayan . Bawat isa sa atin ay naghahangad ng progresibo at maayos na pamumuhay .

Tuwing Bagong Taon, halos lahat tayo ay gumagawa ng pangako sa sarili sa pamamagitan ng “New Year’s’ resolution. Ang tanong: May natupad ba tayo sa ating mga ginawang  pansariling resolusyong? At sa loob ng mahabang taon ng iyong ginagawa ang New Year’s resolution, ilan ang natupad?

Samakatuwid, tayo mismo ang simula. Nasa ating mga kamay ang tunay na pagbabago na hinahangad natin para sa ating bayan. Ito ay panahon ng pagkakataon para sa ating lahat upang ilagay sa tamang landas ang sarili at bayan.  Napakahalaga ng papel natin sa ating bayan dahil sa pamamagitan ng tamang pamumuno at pagbalangkas ng bago at nararapat na batas ay kasabay din ang tunay at epektibong pagbibigay solusyon sa isyu ng korapsiyon, kahirapan, kaunlaran, kaayusan at kapayapaan.

Kung sa gayon ay kailangan tayong maging aktibo sa pakikilahok para sa pagkamit ng tunay na pagbabago para sa ating bayan.

Totoo: kapos ang pagsisikap na baguhin ang mga istrukturang panlipunan kung hindi babaguhin ang indibidwal, kagawian o kultura. Pero kung hindi hahantong sa nauna, kapos din ang ikalawa – magpapanatili sa mapagsamantalang kaayusan at magbibigay lang dito ng makataong itsura.

Kung tutuusin, kung palalalimin sa mga istrukturang pang-ekonomiya’t pampulitika ang mga suliranin ng bayan. Malamlam man sa pandinig subalit nararapat lamang na pagtuunan ng pansin ang mga serbisyong tunay na kailangan ng ating mamamayan: Pagkain, malinis na tubig, trabaho, gamut at serbisyong medical, malinis at tahimik na kapaligiran, karapatang pantao at kalidad na edukasyon.

Samakatuwid ay malaki ang gagampanan nating papel para sa pagkamit ng pagbabago sa ating bayan. Kaalinsabay ng mandatong ipinagkaloob sa atin ay kailangan nating iparating sa mas nakatataas at aksyunan ang tunay ang hinaing ng maliliit na mamamayan at nilalaman ng ating mga puso at isipan, hindi puro pangako at salita lamang. Manapa’t kailangan nating makialam upang siguraduhin na ang interes ng mamamayan ang isusulong ng mga taong nakaupo sa Barangay, Munisipyo, Kapitolyo, Kongreso at Senado at hindi ang interes ng kung sino man ang gusto umupo at manungkulan.

Sama-sama nating harapin ang bagong taon taglay ang pusong hangad ay tunay at makabuluhang pagbabago para sa sarili at para sa bayan.

School Electrification Program

This School Electrification Program has been helping communities and students in far-flung areas in the Philippines through the use of renewable energy-powered multimedia technology; both teachers and students experience better teaching and learning conditions. Luckily, Mansalay got 4 out of 6 solar projects in Mindoro Provinces (Anahaw, Sinariri, Kilapnet & Salay Elem. School). Over 67,546 students in over 200 rural schools all over the Philippines have been given access to this multimedia- based distance education powered by renewable energy program (Solar Power) of AMORE with help from program partners such as WinRock International, ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. – E-Media Program, Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc., Intel Microelectronics (Phils.), Inc., International Copper Association, Southeast Asia, Ltd., Malampaya Foundation, Inc., National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, Rotary Clubs (Davao & Dipolog) & San Miguel Corporation (Phase 3).

 Being a local politician and an independent Nurse practitioner in our municipality is an opportunity for me to learn the values and culture of Mangyan tribes and to live a unique personal and professional experience that is simply not available in any hospital or health care employment setting. 

      Not only will you encounter a fascinating people and culture, but your expertise as a nurse will be broadened and valued. In my practice as an independent professional nurse, a broad spectrum of services, I have the opportunities to explore different specialties and gain additional skills in the field. I also see how your efforts to care for advocate for and educate patients and constituents which can have a ripple effect on the entire community.

      One of my nursing goals is to “ensure that comprehensive, culturally acceptable personal and public health services are accessible and available to all Mangyans and Native people in this country.

Watch out for Mansalay's First ever Mangyan Festival this November 2013!

The Mangyan Festival aims to:

1. Raise awareness of the richness of Mangyan culture to tourists and lowland Mansalenyos

2. Promote respect and recognition for the Mangyans and their diverse cultures through various forms of artistic expression

3. Celebrate and promote the Mangyans' unique crafts and arts

4. Instill among the Mangyan population especially among the youth a deeper understanding and appreciation of their own heritage and of the need to keep it alive for the next generations.

Advanced Handloom Weaving Training

Promotion of handloom weaving in Mansalay has been a major Sustainable Livelihood Generation Program of the LGU. Anabu and Abaca raw materials are abundant in Mansalay. This small-scale industry is a proven livelihood in improving the family income with the entire benefits directly goes to the weavers. This training was provided by the Phil. Textile Institute of DOST and the LGU with the main idea of developing a small scale industry and promoting handloom weaving with the help of advanced technique and to help the poor families to earn through the handloom generation.
