The Professional Fellows Program (PFP) is an intensive
6-week exchange for political professionals from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar,
the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Following an orientation in
Washington, DC, participants will travel to another city to participate in
four-week intensive fellowships in an office with day-to-day mentoring and
guidance from an ACYPL alumnus with the goal of strengthening their understanding
of American governance, politics, and the legislative process. At the
conclusion of the program, all fellows will return to Washington for a 3-day
Professional Fellows Congress where they will share their experiences with
other international fellows from around the world. ACYPL’s 2014 PFP focuses on
seven ASEAN countries as part the broader Young Southeast Asian Leaders
Initiative (YSEALI) at the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US
Department of State.
I appreciate National Movement of Young Legislator (NMYL)
and American Council of young Political Leaders (ACYPL) for this once in a
lifetime opportunity. I am truly grateful.
